Beers by Style

These are beer styles as recognized by the Beer Judge Certification Program. We have classified our beers under these guidelines to help educate people on beer styles, as well as provide information about commercial examples of these styles.

The Beer Judge Certification Program, Inc., known everywhere as the BJCP, is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote beer literacy and the appreciation of real beer, and to recognize beer tasting and evaluation skills. They certify and rank beer judges through an examination and monitoring process.

The BJCP was founded in 1985. As of early 2008, when these guidlelines were published, they have administered the Beer Judge Examination to over 4,500 individuals worldwide. Over 2,500 are active members in 8 countries, and have judged well over 400,000 beers.

We applaud the efforts of the BJCP and encourage everyone to learn more about beer and beer styles.
